Who this policy covers
Three different groups of people, with quite different information involved:
- Visitors to this website
- Our business clients — companies whose phones we answer
- People who call a business we answer for
1. Visitors to this website
Booking a demo. Our booking calendar is provided by Cal.com. When you book, you give a name, an email address, and the time slot you chose. Cal.com processes this on our behalf and delivers it to our calendar so we can meet you.
Advertising measurement. We advertise on Google. If you reach this site from one of our ads, Google's tag (AW-18418842526) sets a cookie so Google can tell us that a visit or a booking came from a particular campaign. We see campaign performance in aggregate — how many people booked — not who you are.
Hosting. This site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.
Fonts. Typefaces load from Google Fonts, which receives the request for them.
We do not sell personal information. We do not run a mailing list and we do not build retargeting audiences.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are Google's advertising cookies, described above. You can block them in your browser settings, or turn off ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com. Blocking them does not affect how the site works.
2. Our business clients
We hold the contact and billing details needed to run the account: company name, contact name, phone, email, service address, and the call-handling rules you give us. We keep these while the account is open, and afterwards only as long as tax and accounting law requires.
3. People who call a business we answer for
This is the part most people want to know about, so here it is plainly.
Calls are not recorded. No audio is captured, stored or retained — not by us, not for quality review, and not to train anything.
During a call our system collects the same details a dispatcher would ask for: your name, a callback number, the service address, and what the problem is.
That information is transmitted immediately to the business you called — by text message, by email, and into their booking calendar — and it lands in that business's own customer system.
We do not keep a copy. Once the details reach the business, we are not the custodian of that record. The business you called holds it and handles it under their own privacy practices.
So if you called a company and want your information corrected or deleted, contact that company — they are the ones holding it. If you are not sure who to contact, email us and we will point you to them.
Where information goes
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Cal.com | Name, email, chosen time — demo bookings only | Runs our booking calendar |
| Ad click and conversion signals, advertising cookies | Measures which ads work | |
| Netlify | Server logs, IP addresses | Hosts this website |
| Google Fonts | Font requests | Renders the typefaces |
| Our client | Caller name, number, address, request | So they can serve the call |
How long we keep things
- Call audio — never retained; not recorded in the first place.
- Caller details — transmitted to the client, not retained by us afterwards.
- Demo bookings — kept while we are in contact with you, removed on request.
- Client account records — for the life of the account, then as tax law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.
In Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, applies. Elsewhere in Canada, PIPEDA applies. If you are in the United States, your state may give you comparable rights.
To make a request, email evans@nightliveanswering.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify who you are first, so that we do not hand someone else's information to the wrong person.
If you are unhappy with our response, in Quebec you may complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. Elsewhere in Canada, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting our clients will also be sent by email.
